Antigua Alumni Celebrate St. Stanislaus Feast Day

Saints Alumnus Glinton Hanover wins Trent University Medical Scholarship

Clinton Hanover has won yet another award from the science department at Trent,he Dr Omole Medical Award in Biology. This award is given to an upper year student who shows exceptional promise and has a desire to pursue a medical related career.
Charles Omole Medical Scholarship
This scholarship was awarded by Dr. Charles Omole, an alumnus of the original class of 1964 upon his death in 2012. Dr. Omole never forgot how important Trent was on his path to becoming a general surgeon in Wingham, Ontario. This scholarship is awarded to a full-time upper-year undergraduate student pursuing Trent internship or placement courses with the intention to become a doctor or to a student enrolled in current or future Trent University medically related courses or programs.


Saints Rangoli Display and Diwali Concert 2016

Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha's National inter - Schools Rangoli Competition at Dharmic Sanskritik Kendra. Queen's College was awarded first place, St. Joseph's High - 2nd Place and Bishops High School - 3rd Place. The St. Stanislaus College’s Hindu Society participated in the Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha Rangoli competition on the 25th of October at the Kendra, Prashad Nagar, placing fourth among the premier schools in Georgetown. 

Rangoli is a decoration for Diwali that signifies purity. It is made out of coloured rice and used like a carpet to place Diyas to enhance decorations on the night of Diwali. It is also used for weddings and other Hindu celebrations.

In celebration of Diwali, Miss Taramattie Gomattie also coordinated a concert on the afternoon of Friday October 28th in the Marion Forum. The concert included an Acrostic and Skit of the story of Diwali performed by the first formers. An African and Indian Drumming performance by form one classmates Colaun Hazelwood and Naresh Mahadeo. Tassa Drumming, Dances and a fashion show of traditional Indian Clothing. Students of all ethnicities and religious backgrounds took part in the concert and helped make it a success.

Saints Students Attend Inter-Guiana Games

At the request of the Ministry of Education, students from St. Stanislaus College attended the opening games of the volleyball and basketball events of Inter Guiana Games on Friday October 21st, 2016. Students witnessed Guyana take on Suriname in volleyball at the National Gymnasium and basketball at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall. The Saints contingent was made up of third formers as well as members of the college's volleyball and basketball teams. 

St. Stanislaus College was also well represented on Guyana's national teams by former students Anfernee Headecker (Athletics), Ruth Samoogan & Travis Belgrave (Basketball). Current students Alex Winter and Daniel Scott were also part of Guyana's national swimming team at the event.
