Saints Girls Selected for Youth Ambassadors Program 2015

Congratulations to Saints students, Ms Dolly Chambers & Ms Joashaha Drakes who have been selected along with four other Guyanese youth to participate in an exchange programme in the USA (Washington DC & Vermont).

Selection was based on academic performance, extra curricular activities, community involvement, volunteerism and social skills. Our students will participate in workshops and other training activities. Additionally, they will be sharing our culture and staying with host families.

The programme is provided by the US Embassy-Guyana and the US State Department. They will cover costs for processing fees, plane tickets to and from also meals etc.

Youth Ambassadors began as an initiative of U.S. Embassy Brasilia in 2002, and has been managed by the State Department's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs since 2009. Under ECA's leadership, the program has expanded regionally to include youth from 25 Western Hemisphere countries and the United States. Approximately 400 participants per year take part in the program.
